Hello my darlings! I am hoping you are having happy holidays in whichever way that is best for you 🙂
This is a period when most of us experience different emotions- gratitude, regrets, excitement, confusion, clarity, pressure, nervousness, anxiety just to name a few. Just know, whichever emotion you are experiencing, it is valid and you are just being human. But also, I remind you to practice self compassion mostly for those of us who might be experiencing negative emotions, which most times is worsened by social media. My trick in such times is taking a social media break. Just remember, if anything, seeing the 363rd day of the year is enough gratitude. It is unfortunate our brains are wired to focus on the negative and forget the most basic but important gifts of life.
Anyways, how many of us have heard or seen vision boards? Also, how many of us have had vision boards before? Whatever your answer is for those questions, do not worry, Mwendwa gatchu today. #wink. To just put a statistical context, a recent article in Forbes reports that, “One in five successful entrepreneurs use vision boards when starting their business and about 76% reported that their progress so far has aligned with their vision. 82% of these small business owners found that they have accomplished over half of their business goals since they began.”
I had my first well elaborated vision board in 2021. It was inspired by TerryAnne Chebet (if interested check the video in YT here: https://youtu.be/Jxkage4b-3c?si=-9sGY79A_5HjWo6w). At that time, I had made a long term vision board and by end of year 2022, I had ticked some of the key visuals I had put in my vision board. This is a practice or tradition I have kept ever since and I can testify that it indeed works. Initially, I just used to ink down my aspirations, which is also very MAGICAL. But, there is something about visualizing that aspiration beyond the ink. It is about creating that dream to be a reality in your subconscious mind and the way our brains are wired, you will find yourselves aligned to working towards that vision. I have found myself in the middle of the year, having this internal push towards something only to reflect and realize it was part of my ink written or visual aspirations at the beginning of an year. As a believer, this is what we call FAITH. Believing in something that is unseen and making it your reality.
To share some tricks that have worked for me in this process; Having a very clear WHY which makes the HOW very easy; SMART-Specific Measurable Achievable Realistic Timebound aspirations; FAITH, Consistency and Patience. I always aim to have a 365 goal, translate it to 12 months, 30 days and 24 hours. A day feeds in its smallest ways to the yearly goal. Atomic activity I would say.
Someone will ask, do you normally achieve all you set oneself to achieve in a year? ABSOLUTELY NOT. Damn. I have things I have aspired for in the last 4 years and we keep moving them to the next year in the board. Remember patience and consistency? That is where it applies and trust me, it has never been easy being patient. I am human and so I loose patience and want to give up but consistency always wins. Also, speaking to God as I always know His timing is ALWAYS perfect. Also, it is important to have a trusted support system to keep you grounded with your aspirations. You got this darling. You got this. I promise.
So with that. Will you try having a vision board for 2025? If this is your tradition, have you developed yours? Please reach out incase you need help in developing a simple one. I am not any expert but will share from my own personal successful experience. Also, you can tag a trusted friend/family member and do the activity together. This year, I tagged one of my trusted babes whom I felt comfortable doing this with and it was FUN. First time, engaging someone on it as well. Make it fun and stay accountable!
Anyways, darlings. I hope you get inspired to try the power of visioning and hopefully, we will have testimonies out of it. For now, Happy 2025 and I pray that it brings your heart desires to life. Whatever emotion you are feeling right now, it is valid and you got this I promise.
With Love, Mwendwa. Xoxo.
Well done and thank you 🙏🏽
Thank you and you’re welcome Dean 🙂
So inspiring as always my dear. Thanks for getting us out of the comfort zone 😍👏
You are welcome hun. I am happy I do that to you.
I love this article—it’s packed with solid statistics to support the facts. The last time I created a vision board was eight years ago, and I recently came across that journal a few weeks back. It was such a fulfilling experience to see that I had surpassed many of those goals. This serves as a great reminder to create a new vision board for this year and review it at year-end for some well-deserved celebration.
Thank you for the kind comment sweetie and happy to hear that you resonate and have a testimony of how vision boards are powerful. Please create a new vision board and wish you all the best and hope at the end of the year you will look back and be proud of yourself.
